Tonya Ann Groce

Family Tribute-

Tonya was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 14,1969 to her parents Eddie Reed Groce and Shirley Mae Groce. She was the oldest of two children and loved her sibling Brian dearly. Tonya had a fierce passion for life and Jesus Christ. She enjoyed going to church, spending time with her friends and family. Tonya was often spoken of as the rock of the family. She always knew exactly what to say and how to handle any situation. She was the true definition of pure light and joy in everyone's eyes. The love she had for her children, grandchildren, and family was extraordinary and unconditional. On February 26, 2026, Tonya tragically passed away at Eskenazi Hospital as the result of a vehicular accident.

Tonya will be deeply missed by her fiancé Alan Malone, Her children Nicole Kernodle, Keith Golay, Jr. (Estacia), Alicia Lines (Kyle Lines), her brother Brian Groce, her grandchildren Haven Kernodle, Jaxx Kernodle, Ezekiel Golay, Dakota Golay, Jacie Brown, Evan Lines, Jacquelyn Lines, Charity Lines, Chloe Lines, Zane Lines, Michael Penrose, Hailey Rose, Her great granddaughter Haisley Thomas. She also has numerous nieces, nephews, extended children, family and friends that will deeply miss her as well. Tonya is preceded in death by her parents Eddie Reed Groce and Shirley Mae Groce, Her Maternal Grandmother Callie Mae Sechman, Her Grandson Shane “Baby Shane” Kernodle, Mother-in-law Terri Golay, Brother-in-law Lawrence “Ron” Golay Jr, and soul sister Carol Ann Golay

Services for Tonya will be Friday, March 6, 2026, at Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 National Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227 with calling from 3;00 p.m. until the time of service.
